Diagnostic Services at KDL
KDL is proud to offer accurate and confidential diagnostic testing using advanced technology and certified protocols. Our services are available to Kean University students, healthcare providers, and individuals from the surrounding community. Self-pay pricing is discounted for uninsured Kean students, and additional discounts are available for qualified self-pay individuals.
Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) Testing
Real-time PCR testing for four common infections: Chlamydia trachomatis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Mycoplasma genitalium, and Trichomonas vaginalis.
These infections can lead to serious health issues if left untreated. Early detection is key for effective treatment and prevention. Our lab ensures accurate and confidential results in a respectful and supportive environment.
Drug Use Screening
We offer urine toxicology panels to detect opioids, cannabinoids, stimulants, sedatives, and more. Designed for routine testing, workplace screenings, or specialized needs.

Sickle Cell Screening
Detects the presence of sickle cell disease (SCD) and sickle cell trait (SCT) by identifying abnormal hemoglobin variants (HbS).
Essential for early diagnosis and risk awareness, especially in individuals of African, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, or Indian descent. Helps guide proactive health decisions and family planning.
Metabolic and Lipid Panels
Basic metabolic testing that evaluates markers related to kidney and liver function, blood glucose, cholesterol levels, electrolytes, and more.
These panels are useful for early detection and monitoring of conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, or liver/kidney disorders.
Tests include: glucose, HDL/LDL, creatinine, BUN, ALT, sodium, potassium, triglycerides, and total protein.
Hormonal Testing (Coming Soon)
Non-invasive saliva-based testing for progesterone, estrogen, and DHEA.
Helps track hormonal balance for individuals managing reproductive health, fertility, menopause, adrenal function, or hormonal therapies. A convenient and reliable solution for monitoring overall hormonal health.

How to Schedule Your Test
Schedule by email or visit us during walk-in hours, for Drug Screening at Downs Hall. All tests take place at the Kean Wellness Center. Kean students can book through the student health portal.
